NYST has purchased multiple machines (2 coolant systems with chillers & 1 wheel dresser) from Rush over the past few years and we couldn’t be happier. The coolant systems honestly do a better job of filtration than the other two brands we have and the dresser has saved countless hours truing wheels. We have also had the Rush retrofit one of our other coolant systems with new pump configuration. The design and installation went perfectly.
I contacted Rush Machinery with an issue I was having with a re-sharping countersink project I had been working on. It was my good fortune to speak with Bill with my questions. His knowledge was superb and helped me confirm I was heading in the right direction with my theories as to why I was having such difficulty with re-sharping our countersinks. Please extend my thanks to him.
The manual he recommended helped immensely… and has up and running more cost effectively now.
Prior to purchasing our Rush FC-250W dressing machine we averaged 1/2 hour of dress time per machine every day. With 12 CNC tool and cutter grinders on the floor, that was costing us a huge amount of manufacturing time. We were shocked when we sat down and did the math: 1/2 hour a day per machine x 5 days a week = 2.5 hours per machine. Multiply 2.5 hours weekly per machine, with 12 machines running 50 weeks each year… 1500 hours! A shop rate of $80 per hour= $120,000… WOW! Our Rush FC-250W dressing machine paid for itself in less than a year. We are making more consistent tools and all of our dressing is done while the machines are running.
The FC-250W is a very rigid machine and it does a very good job of dressing our cutter grinder wheels – and is very repeatable. We are fussy about tolerance and repeatability and the Rush Dressing machine does a very good job! The set-up and training was very well done. Many times, the people doing this kind of leave you to fend for yourself. This was not the case with Rush Machinery. We achieve faster, better results that are repeatable – all wins!
After I bought my first grinding machine, I wanted a truer, but couldn’t justify the cost. The same justification problem was true after I bought my second grinder. Just before buying my third grinder I bought the Rush Machinery Wheel Truer and found myself wishing I had bought it much earlier. It saves me time and money. My grinding wheels last so much longer than before and my results are better and more consistent.
